Rosin is a form of concentrate that uses no solvents for extraction. Creating cannabis rosin starts with collecting the trichomes, or the resinous glands, from the cannabis plant. These mushroom-shaped hairs are where the treasured cannabinoids and terpenes are produced and give bud its prized frosted appearance. After the trichomes are collected, they are sifted through mesh screens to isolate solely the trichome heads, then pressed using only heat and pressure.
The resulting oil is set aside to solidify. Taffying is required, or the twisting and pulling of the concentrate, to ensure a homogenous distribution of cannabinoids and terpenes, as well as to perfect its texture.
